About NECwire

NECwire is an independent set of electrical calculators for electricians, apprentices, inspectors and homeowners in the United States, with a German section built on the DIN VDE tables. The pages that rank for these searches belong to wire manufacturers, cable shops and two one-page calculators, and none of them shows which code table produced the number. This one prints the table, the edition and the source beside every value, and marks any row it could not verify.

Independence

Not affiliated with the NFPA, any manufacturer, distributor or contractor network. “NEC” is a mark of the National Fire Protection Association; the site quotes the code, it does not reproduce it, and it is not a substitute for it. Read the method and sources.

How it is funded

Display ads placed below the calculators and, on the cost pages, a slot where a licensed electrician can be matched to the visitor. Both ship empty until an account exists. No result changes because of a commission; the site sells nothing itself.

What it is not

Not a code book, not an engineering service, not a permit. Local amendments, the authority having jurisdiction and the installation instructions on the equipment govern. Sizing decisions on real installations belong to a licensed electrician.

Corrections

A wrong table cell is one line in one file. Send the table, the row, the figure you believe is right and the published source to hello@necwire.com.
